We are pleased to announce that we are now in a position to welcome back accompanied drivers on the Commodore Clipper services between Portsmouth, Guernsey and Jersey. At this time, no drivers are permitted to travel on Commodore Goodwill.
Below are the details for the protocols which are currently in place for each jurisdiction and we would ask that you ensure you have clear knowledge of these before booking your trip and throughout the duration of your time with us.
Guernsey
For travel to Guernsey, you do not require any pre-authorisation but on arrival, you will be interviewed by Border Force who will explain that you must enter 14 days of self-isolation and that Guernsey operates a strict track and trace protocol with heavy fines if not adhered to.
They will record the address you are staying at and also your mobile phone contact.
Please be advised that heavy fines have been imposed on those not adhering to the restrictions whilst on the Island.
Jersey
In order to travel to Jersey, you must first of all apply for permission from the Jersey Immigration Service by visiting Immigration@gov.je and completing the online application. You must then wait until you receive written authority which we would ask you to provide copy of to Condor Freight at the time of requesting your booking. Condor will then confirm dates for travel and email you the confirmation details.
Vessel Protocol
Whilst waiting to board the vessel you must remain in your vehicle at all times.
When you alight from your vehicle on board, you must follow all instructions given by the crew.
You must wear a face mask and keep your distance from the crew and other passengers. You will be designated a seating area for the journey from Portsmouth to the Islands and a cabin for your return journey, which you must remain in for the duration of the crossing.
As there is no hot food currently available, you will be offered a limited selection of sandwiches, crisps and a drink. The crew will take your order and instruct you on the process when you are on board. A cold continental breakfast will be delivered to your cabin in the morning if you are travelling on the overnight service from the Islands.
There is a duty free option which the cabin crew will advise you of when you board the vessel.
