It has been an exciting week for the Freightlink Motorsport team, who have spent the past week supporting Garage59.
The McClaren factory backed team have been competing in this class since 2005 and invited us over to join them in their appearance at The ’24 hours of Spa’ race meet, which took place at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium last week.
2018 sees Freightlink Motorsport become Garage59’s official ferry partner as they compete all over Europe, making us responsible for safely transporting all their cars and equipment to each new venue as the season progresses.
The event was a big step up for our Motorsport team as they look to go from strength to strength in 2018, 2019 and beyond.
The team spent five days with Garage59 watching some of the best cars in the Blancpain GT on the legendary circuit.
Head Of Freightlink Motorsport, Adam Redford said
“What a fantastic week we have just had, I wish to thank all of the Garage59 team for accommodating myself and the Freightlink team. Gemma was a fantastic host and I also can’t thank Tim and everyone in the wider team enough for letting us be a part of such a special week”
“The event itself was a great experience for us, speaking to so many people about their freight ferry needs, getting new clients, speaking the Freightlink Motorsport word. We are already looking forward to our next event”
Team Principal Andrew Kirkaldy said
“Spa is a gruelling event and the team spent a huge amount of time preparing the equipment and cars. The cars ran perfectly but the one thing you can’t account for is contact with other cars. Both the 58 and 188 had great chances to win their respective classes but it wasn’t to be, losing several laps to repair damage. It was disappointing for the team who didn’t put a foot wrong in any of the many Pitstops. That’s motorsport and we now move on Suzuka for the next round of the intercontinental Cup.”
Garage59 will now advance onto the next round of the championship at the Italian Circuit of Monza on the 2nd September. Freightlink will be routing for them all the way.
We have come a long way since the set up of Freightlink Motorsport in 2016. We are expanding at a huge rate making us one of the key players in Motorsport travel.
